We want to take this opportunity and invite you to participate in a study of how people behave and react in situations related to learning and teaching. This study takes place entirely online, and your contribution will help us design a better learning environment for everyone.
If you agree to participate, here are the steps you will go through.
First, set up your profile.
Then you will see short videos or tasks related to situations that learners and educators frequently encounter. After each video or task, we will ask you to answer to one simple question to indicate your own views using a slider on the screen. Please make sure that you closely follow the instructions on the screen carefully.
Remember, there are no “right” or “wrong” reactions, and you are not competing. That’s why it is essential that your reactions are true -- to you! All we want is to get your views on these situations. Indeed, we will be aggregating the responses of other participants like you in our analyses.
There are a few things you need to be careful about:
There is a total of 25 rather short videos/tasks that you may respond to. Once you’ve registered with our platform, our algorithm will assign you a random sequence of items (videos or tasks).
You can quit at any time and then come back, but we recommend that you stay in for at least 8 consecutive items each time (about 10–15 minutes)
Don’t worry, you will be able to track your progress at all times.
What is in it for you?
As a compliment and a token of our gratitude, those who complete all 25 items of the study will receive an individual report with a summary of their reactions, comparisons with other platform users, and suggested interpretations.
What is next?
If you agree to join, you need to register. Your registration is simple, fast, and anonymous. We will never seek to identify you. You may use a nickname as your profile name and feel absolutely safe when telling us some very basic stuff about yourself, such as where you come from, your age and gender, and a few other things. This information will later help us process the data and have more meaningful results.
We do ask for a valid email address so we can be sure it’s a real registration and not a bot. This is where we will send your registration and logging details. We are also going to use your email address to get in touch with you with our “Thank you!” once you have completed the entire study!
BEWARE:
As you may decide to stop at some point and come back later, please remember that it is important that you use the same profile so that all your data is properly linked together. If you forget your login details, use the password recovery link instead of making a new profile.
Thank you for participating in this exciting study and helping us with creating better learning and teaching situations!
